I often start a project by trying to understand what is actually happening.

Sometimes that means talking with people and listening to their stories. Other times, it means observing, looking at data, or trying things out together. I don’t always know what the right direction is at the beginning, and I think that is part of the process.

These projects are a collection of work I’ve done and learned from across research, healthcare, education, and professional practice. Each one gave me a different way of looking at people, context, and the role design can play.
